When not reading or promoting books, she is homeschooling her two daughters, dressing up in cosplay and historical dress, dreaming of her future farm, and caring for her ‘little zoo’ that includes two dogs, two guinea pigs, a bearded dragon, two daughters, and her husband. Malissa’s passion for books has led her on one of the most favorite adventures of her life: traveling, fangirling, volunteering/working at book events, blogging, and supporting authors. After a lifetime as a military dependent, she is now looking forward to her husband’s eventual retirement from the Service and one day settling into her forever home surrounded by books, Highland coos, and rescue dogs. Life as a military spouse has given her a passion for being of service to others. Malissa grew up as an Air Force ‘Brat’ and married into the Army. Her love of stories of all kinds was instilled in her at a young age through her beloved grandfather, Da’s example and encouragement. When Kelly isn’t reading, found on social media, or crafting digital graphics, she enjoys spending time with her family, working on puzzles, traveling, and watching baseball. Combining her love of books with art, Kelly specializes in graphic design, helping authors by creating unique graphics tailored to their needs. Having a creative mind at an early age, she’s had her artwork published in literary magazines, which led her to pursue her education at Dakota State University, majoring in art/art history. After years of reading murder mysteries, she picked up her first romance novel in 2006 and fell in love with the genre.Īlong with books, Kelly’s other great passion is art. His fountain pen was made by running a hose from a barrel of ink. He was something of a genius and perfected his own office appliances to increase efficiency. He invented bookkeeping about the time Paul invented logging. Kelly has been a lover of books since her teens, borrowing her mother’s fiction novels as often as possible.
